10 Easy Steps For Proper Surface-Mount Twin Post Lift Operation

1. Lifts are only to be used by a trained operator who has read and is familiar with A.L.I. Literature: ANSI ALOIM current standard,
Lifting it right, Vehicle lifting points

2. Inspect your lift daily / perform maintenance as advised by manufacturer. Make sure your lift has been inspected by a third party
    at least annually

3. Inspect bay for debris, oil on floor, obstructions etc..

4. Check capacity of vehicle and be sure it does not exceed the lifts maximum capacity (check trunk, box bed for cargo that is unexpected
and will offset vehicles center of gravity. REMOVE LOAD before lifting

5. Look up the manufacturers suggested lifting points in current quick reference guide for frame engaging lifts

6. Position lifting arm pads under the vehicles lifting points and lift hoist. Stop just before it makes contact with the vehicle
   (Check pad placement)

7. Once pads are lined up with vehicle lifting points raise vehicle so wheels are 1' off the ground.Slightly shake vehicle in front and
    rear. Observe pad placement.

8. If vehicle and or pads do not move you are now ready to lift the vehicle to desired working height. Remember to always:
   (LOWER LIFT TO LOCKING LATCHES)

9. If you are going to remove a large / heavy component always use 4 appropriately rated jack stands with lift.

10. When you are ready to lower the lift make sure there are no tools / equipment or people left under the vehicle. Raise the lift slightly
disengage the locking latches and depress the release valve. Always (OBSERVE BOTH SIDES OF LIFT TO ENSURE BOTH .LOCKING LATCHES ARE DISENGAGED AND THAT THE TWO SIDES DESCEND EQUALLY)

This list is generic for conveying safety procedures and practices for the use of 2 post frame engaging lifts. This list is designed to improve
operator awarness and safety. Refer to manufactures lifting practices and maintenance.
